Posts: 128 07/10/08 10:36:48	Tags : None I've definitely cut down on my trips to AC and have hardly earned 150 comp dollars over the past calendar year, but to my surprise I got an offer in my email this week for a comp room for either this Friday or Saturday. I havent had one of those since I was a Black Card 2 years back. They also started sending more coupons lately (free parking, cafeteria dollars). Wonder if the new tower has opened up their market for rooms in the old tower! FUN!

Posts: 183 07/10/08 12:48:14	I can tell you that I was down graded to the Red Card at the end of December. Since then, I' ve only gone to Borgata twice, due to just too busy w/ other stuff, and those were only 1 nite trips, earning $50-60 in comp dollars each trip. All along I've been getting the post-card offers for 1 free nite a week, Sun-Thur, but since May, the offer changed to 2 nites/week, any nite. When I have checked availabilty on the Borg website, all days have been available, including Fri & Saturdays', July & August. Now I'm not a high roller that they'll just do anything in the world for me, so either the new tower has really freed up some rooms, or business has really dropped off a bit, or both. I haven't seen any increase in the free play/cash back, but we'll see if that's next.----Mike

Posts: 1205 07/11/08 04:04:34	We are still very active black card holders and get all the offers but I have to admit its been very easy to get rooms this summer, in fact, it seems like we get anything we ask for. Last week on our spur of the moment trip on the 4th of July not only did we get a last minute room we got a suite. Yesterday, when I called my host for a room labor day weekend i was asked, " Where do you want to stay ? A fiore suite or the Water Club ? ". In the past we would probably get a room but our host would tell us no suites available for the Ho;iday. Even though we book our rooms through our host, anytime I am thinking about going down on what shoud be a busy weekend I will go online to see if rooms are available. As Mike said, this year, everynight is available, weekend, holiday, does not matter. I believe CJ spoke to his host last trip and was told it was a slow summer. That combined with the additional 800 rooms has probably really opened things up. All I know is I'm really enjoying it, as you said, it certainly is FUN ! Posts: 613 07/11/08 14:15:45	I'm an infrequent visitor and went up from sun-thursday to also fridays for the summer. Seems like they knew bookings were down. There also seem to be more bonus slot dollars. I just wish room rates were a little lower for the times when I want to pay. I'd like to stay at either the Borg or Trump Plaza on August 2nd. I have the friday comped, but the Saturday is so expensive!

Posts: 814 07/17/08 06:50:07	my mom comes down once a year - and we take her to the borg in august. usually one or two nights. she called me a couple months ago to tell me she got a invite/flyer. 2 nights comped any night july/august, buffet and comedy show tix. of course on line the weekend she wanted wasnt available for some reason - but we spoke to our girls and we were able to swing it. it was me that mentioned the host telling us that the summer seemed slow this year - even with the wc opening. ed - i dont know if i can convince joe...but let me see what i can do about making arrangements for that same weekend as you and fran over labor day.
