Harrahs Chester with sis in law again on Friday. Cold, cold, cold outside. And, unfortunately, cold, cold, cold inside the High Limit area
also.
Tried Triple Strike, Double Triple Strike, Triple
Diamond Deluxe and nothing, nothing, nothing. Got a little bit on Monte Carlo spin, but not enough to make up for the other disasters. Okay, now a choice ---
hit MAC or go play nickels???
Nickels won out. Good decision. Settled at a nickel Double Dollars with a $100 investment and played for 2 ½ hours taking my ticket up, up, up. Almost made up what I lost in the High Limit area. How could that be? It's only a nickel machine! Yeah, but at 90 nickels a spin, that's $4.50, so it's really not quite such a small bet. And it paid off. Saved my day. Gave me a $200 profit in the end, a stiff behind from sitting so long at the same machine, and a morning of slot fun. I lost count of how many times I hit the three bonus symbols which gives you 11 free spins. Sometimes they only paid out $10, but sometimes they paid out $50 or $100 -- inconsistent, but fun sitting back and just watching the free spins turn.
The lady next to me was playing two of those machines at a time in the penny denomination. She was doing great on one of them and very poorly on the other one. I always find it funny how two of the exact same machines right next to each other could payout so differently. All in all, though, she walked away a winner, too.
Sis said she got a lot of play for her minimal investment on her penny favorites even though no profits. Got a seat at whatever she wanted cause it never seemed crowded at all. She tried the new Wizard of Oz and Monopoly machines they installed recently, but said they were duds for her.
My lucky charm slot neighbor from last week stood me up. I looked for him, but never found him. But I did run into my friend the security guard who has been out of work injured for the past 8 months. He finally returned, and snuck up behind me to say hello. I was surprised to see him and glad he was finally over his injury.
Of course, you know when I try those same nickel wonders next week, they'll probably drain me dry. Isn't that always the way? Can't count on anything; I guess that's why they call it "gambling".

Friday jaunt to Chester.
