Hi folks. I haven't been anywhere since Labor Day; just busy w/ normal life stuff. This past Saturday, Ada calls me at work saying we need to get out just for the evening before we both go nuts, & suggests the casino boat. I'm not that hard to convince, so off we go. It was the usual routine. I played in a $75/ 11 player poker tournament; came in 7th place (they only pay the top 3). I then hit the 5 cent video slots; 5 & 9 lines. These are some of the older games; Winning Bid, Life of Luxury, Jackpot Party, etc., but they kept me going for over 2 hours w/ a small loss. I later hit the $10 blackjack for about 30 minutes (we were near the end of the casino operating time) & cleared $60. Finally, there was another $75 poker tourney, w/ just 7 players on the way into shore. Basically, I wasn't getting very good hands & was just hanging on. However, others were dropping out & I actually ended up in the last 3 (top 2 spots were paid). At that point, the blinds were so high, I had to go all-in 3 times in a row & won them all. When we hit dock & they wanted us off the boat, all 3 of us went all in. Long story short, the big stack won the hand , but I had the higher chip count before that hand between me & the remaining player, so I got 2nd place for $180. Adding it all up, the evening was almost a break even. Ada played $5-10 blackjack the whole trip & lost a little under $100. For the amount of playing & entertainment we got, it was worth the money spent; no complaints there. We didn't try the buffet; we had eaten at home & the food didn't look that great anyway.

Just to update something I posted before, the boat is again accepting 2-for-1 coupons from mailers & the newspaper. They still charge for alcohol & beers, but after playing a little while, the boss' can comp a couple. I still say the boat is an OK diversion until we hit the real thing in AC.----Mike
