The good news is I predict this is the beginning of the end of the "retail-destinations-that-happen-to-have-hotels-and-gambling" business model. Any smart person could see it was never meant to be long term and it will die a quick death this year. If that were the case, outlet malls would make as much money as LV and AC, but they don't. The gamblers were spending the money at the retail establishments, and if they have to choose, they will choose to gamble over upscale shopping. The smart casinos will figure this out quick and improve the gaming experience for their customers. |
