I would like to poll some of you who are regulars at the Borg (ed, Joe, etc) & ask some questions. I have a host who really doesn't seem that interested in me. I inquired about getting some discretionary comps for my birthday because I wanted to take Paula & JimBob into Old Homestead for dinner with me on the 15th. I received an email back informing me well, let me cut and paste:
Hi Judy,
I'll go ahead and cancel this weekend for you. Regarding comps here at Borgata, there is no such thing as a "discretionary comp." Comps are sometimes given for special occasions (such as birthdays), and is usually done only for Titanium customers or those that play close to Titanium level. As a courtesy, I'll go ahead and comp $150 towards dinner, but in the future you would have to use the Comp Dollars you earn from your play. If it's still allowable, I will do the same thing for your birthday next year.
Based on what I have heard from some of you, you seem to get comps or dinners bestowed upon you periodically, and not once a year. I would be interested on any feedback any of you could provide. I dump a lot of $$ at the Borg (pull a lot out too) and was "borderline" according to my host on being invited to the NYEve party but once I mentioned that I was magically in. Please anyone who would like to chime in I would love to hear from you.
