Sorry, Judy I plagiarized your title. Left LI and made great time. We haven't been down on a Sunday to Monday in a long time, no one on
the road at 8am. Made it to AC by 10:30, we stopped for some breakfast at one of the rest stops. Went to check in which is usually never a problem but they
said to come back at 3pm they were doing ANY check-in's til then. WHAT?? They usually have you come back around 12 which would have been fine but they
said 3 and they weren't budging. The attitudes were permiating the air from both sides of the counter, this was why I had stopped going to the Taj for a
long time even though my last trip in November was great. We said to meet back at the desk and see if we could check in around 12:30 and there were about 150
people on line, the 3 reservation clerks were just standing there talking and laughing. I asked the girl behind us what was going on and she said they were
not checking people in until 1pm. (what happened to 3pm, it's a good thing we decided to come back a little early) I was livid. It was going to take us
about 1 hr to check in and being only and Executive member I couldn't use the Chairman check in, my host was off for the weekend. They started taking
people around 12:45 and did take over an hour to check in at least the room was ready. We had lost a few hundred waiting to check in so we droped off our
things and headed over to the Showboat for the multiplier. I had a star which turned out to be 5X and my girlfriend had the Mardi Gras beads which were 10X.
Coudn't do much at VP or machines so we went to Let it Ride and 3 Card Poker and held our own. Left only down a little bit.
We had reservations for my birthday dinner at the Hilton's Oak Steakhouse. (Dinner for 2 or $120) We had a great dinner, probably one of the best we've ever had in AC and we've been to the Palm, Carmines, Bobby Flay's etc. The lobster mac & cheese was to die for. We played for a while and were up a hundred here down 2 hundred there but came back to the Taj not killed.
We decided to go up to the room and relax for a bit, watch the SAG awards but everyone was sawing wood in about 10 minutes!!! We woke up at 11 and went downstairs ......LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!
Tried the Quick Hits not much for me but Maria cashed out with about $400. I put a 20 in the Wizzard of Oz and on the first spin here comes Glenda with 3 wilds..a nice $225 for me. The casino was pretty crowded for a Sunday night and we decided to sit at a 3 card Poker table, a few pairs and straights kept us playing until the cards changed and we decided to play Let it Ride. On my second hand I looked at 3 2's in the hole, COOL! The dealer turned over a 10 and everyone at the table was calling for another 10 so everyone could be a winner. Well....she turned over a 2!!!!! Four of a kind for a payout of $2200!!!! No W-2 and I had it the best possible way you can get it with the 3 card bonus. I must tell you Maria and I are usually partners in all of our winnings, but we don't usually win so splitting 500-1000 usually just brings us back so we can play. Maria wouldn't take have but $700 brought her back to even so I insisted she take it. She was so appreciative. We didn't want to give my winnings back so we quit after about losing $150 more and decided to play some machines. We went into the Sultans Palace and I played $1 Let it Ride, hit for 4 Aces, cashed out up $400. Went to the penny Monopoly, kept hitting the bonus and cashed out with $250. Went to Nickel Oasis and saw a Stinkin Rich machine. I hit 35 spins and kept hitting bonuses again, cashed out about $500. Stinkin Rich was so much fun but I didn't know what I was getting, I usually do better when I don't understand the machine. It just kept spinning. It was about 4:30am at this point we were so tired, it was a good thing we had that little nap. We had to leave early this morning, about 10am due to a meeting I had that I couldn't get out of. so we wouldn't be playing before we left.
We hit no traffic on the way home and even with a bathroom break we made it home by 12:15. We couldn't stop taking about the 4 of a kind on the way home. We started off the New Year in the Black. Looking forward to our next excursion........
