Posts: 6 03/16/09 07:39:32	Tags : None Hi. We're planning our first trip to Atlantic City which I have a lot of questions. First, we're flying from Houston Texas (southwest airlines) to Philadelphia. I need to know what kind of shuttle services should we use and how much. How long of a ride is it from Philadelphia to Atlantic City? I was also searching the different hotels there and would like to know which hotel would you all recommend the most. According to the pictures of the rooms, to me they all look nice but pictures can also be deceiving. The kind of hotel we prefer is one that's close to shopping and of walking distance from one another. Sorry for being a pain. Thanks.

Posts: 396 03/16/09 09:51:39	You're not a pain at all; that's why this forum is here. I don't know much about transportation from Philly to AC, but I beleive it is less than an hour. Maybe you would want to consider a rental car. As far as hotels, if you want to be in walking distance of other casinos, shopping, etc, you would probably be better off staying in the Boardwalk area. The most centrally located hotels would be Ceasars or Ballys. Most of the casino hotels have had various degrees of renovations &/or improvements the last few years. Of course, any of them could have a "clunker" room in the building, but for the most part, I would say most of them are in pretty good shape. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask. I sure someone will come along here who can answer your transportation questions. Have a great trip.-----Mike

As Mike said, Ceasars and Ballys are the most centrally located casinos, Trump Plaza is right there too. Easy access by foot to the outlet stores, the Pier is connected to Ceasers, and right in the center of the boardwalk. AC is about 50 miles from the airport, takes about 45 min to an hour by car, depending on traffic. I can not help you with shuttle info, I know some posters take the train. I'm sure someone on the board can help. Once your in AC there are shuttles and cabs available if you wish to visit the Marina District....EdB ............EdB

If you get the chance visit the Borgata which is the newest casino in AC but is located in the marina district along with Harrah's and Trump Marina.
