Posts: 1615 11/06/09 20:44:09	Tags : None Had dinner tonight with M&J at Harrahs Chester at the Cove, a really lovely restaurant. While enjoying cocktails at the bar Karen, the Fri night bartender, informed us of the upcoming plan for table games at Chester. They will be closing Aces Diner and that will become the main area for the table games. They will also wrap around the floor up to the Stir Bar. Slot machines will be relocated down to the elevators outside the cove and end zone to make more room. A poker room will be added to the race bet floor. They will feature all the games you find in AC, including all the popular Asian Games and they will be opening a noodle bar. They hope to be up and running by April, 2010. Had a lovely meal with our friends, the $35 price fix 4 course meal may be the best casino restaurant value I have seen, we even managed to win a couple hundred dollars tonight, a much welcome change from our recent visits. ............EdB

We went to the Races 2 Sundays ago with my two brothers and sisters in law and had dinner at Riverview Terrace. It is no longer mini buffet, but order off a limited menu. The food was delicious and the races were fun. I won $39.00............woo hoo! I'm sorry to hear Aces Diner will close when they get table games. The food was very good, but service was sometimes slow. But table games still not definite, from what I hear. And the Governor isn't too happy about it taking so long to work out all the kinks. It's costing the state lots of lost tax revenue til the law officially gets signed. Once again, I think table games in Pennsylvania will definitely hurt AC casinos so they better come up with some better marketing to keep their PA customers coming back to NJ. *PANANNY*

Posts: 3996 11/08/09 04:06:28	That is what I also hear, the governor is not happy with this taking so long and yet nothing is signed yet. From what I read Mohegan Sun and Mt. Airy etc are ready to roll and start getting ready for the table games whenever things get signed. I hear it will take time to set things up so I hope they get the law signed so things can start to move forward. I also agree Helen that the table games in Pa. will hurt AC so I hope they start to make the machines in AC a little more user friendly and let us win once in awhile. The machines have been so tight down there lately. At the rate things are moving here in Pa. Posts: 1615 11/09/09 07:10:29	What I should have said is Harrahs will be ready to open table games by April. From talking to the employees they are confident the bill will pass. Part of the reason for the delay, in their opinion, is the state wants to give all the casinos a chance to offer table games at the same time. If the bill had passed immediately The new Sands was most prepared to implement table games first. Rendell would like to see it happen as quickly as possible to bring more revenue in for the state. Local representatives are more concerned about a level playing field where all the PA casinos offer table games at the same time, they are representing their voters as they should. It's all politics of course, but eventually PA will have table games and it will definitely hurt AC. I also will miss Aces Diner, did not eat there often but they did have good food and great shakes. ............EdB
